PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a stereoscopic picture display method excellent in reproducibility of a high-quality stereoscopic picture, and a stereoscopic picture display element. SOLUTION: (1) In the stereoscopic picture display method having a fine light source array, a picture for stereoscopic picture display and observing light, the picture for the stereoscopic picture display is formed by color material previously containing dye or dye precursor, and having at least three kinds of laminated color sensitive layers having different absorption wavelength regions, and the fine light source array is a fly-eye lens. (2) In the stereoscopic picture display method having a fine light source array, a picture for stereoscopic picture display and observing light, the picture for the stereoscopic picture display is formed by color material in a density gradation reproducing system, and the fine light source array is a fly-eye lens.
