CONTENT DISTRIBUTION SYSTEM AND SERVER, CONTENT RECEPTION CLIENT, AND CONTENT REPRODUCING METHOD

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a content distribution system, a content reception client, a content distribution server, and a content reproducing method whereby the client can continue reproduction of contents even when the client moves outside a base station cover area of a spot type communication network during content reproduction.

SOLUTION: A streaming reproduction section 502 of the client 50 reproduces streaming contents subjected to streaming distribution. A download instruction section 506 transmits a download request of download type contents with the same contents as the streaming type contents during reproduction. A download reception 505 downloads the download type contents in parallel with the reproduction of the streaming type contents. After the end of downloading, a reproduction content switching section 504 switches the reproduction of the streaming type contents into reproduction of the download type contents.
