<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily detect the deficient contact of a connection part in a plug means for detachably connecting a foot controller to control the rotational speed of a motor of a sewing machine to a control means (a micro-computer). <P>SOLUTION: A diode 13 is connected in parallel to a resistance R3 and to a variable resistor VR inside the foot controller 10. A first power supply line L1 is connected to an analogue port AP1 and to an output port OP1 via a plug 11, a jack 9 and a second power supply line L3, and a first earth side line L2 is connected to an analogue port A2 and to an output port OP2 via the plug 11, the jack 9 and a second earth side line L4. When a deficient connection detection mode is set and the output port OP1 is set in the "L" level, the partial pressure generated in the second earth side line L4 is read at the analogue port AP2. If the read partial pressure is a prescribed threshold "1V" or above because of the contact resistance in the connection part between the plug 11 and the jack 9, it can be determined that the connection is deficient. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
