<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problem wherein, when a noise signal is added to a reception signal, any error is generated in the assumption of transmission path characteristics, and any error is also generated in the signal of a data carrier in a conventional diversity type receiving device, and that when any signal affected by the noise signal is selected or compounded, receiving characteristics are likely to be deteriorated. <P>SOLUTION: When a signal carrier-modulated by a digital multi-value modulation system is received and decoded by two or more antennas, a complex signal to be compounded is selected by comparing an inter-reception signal point distance to be calculated from a complex signal with a preliminarily stored threshold, and the rate of composition is adjusted, and likelihood at the time of error correction is corrected.
