<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a literature information retrieval system with a similar word retrieval device for properly retrieving similar words. <P>SOLUTION: A key word is acquired from retrieval request information from a terminal device, and an input Roman character string according to an input operation for converting it to the keyword in an input support means which performs conversion to word in conformation to input operation is generated by a word conversion means 352. The similarities for similar state of the input Roman character string of the keyword to input Roman character strings of words in a word emergence list storage area 342 are computed by a similarity arithmetic means 353. On the basis of the similarities, words having similar input Roman character strings in the word emergence list storage area 342 are selected by a word candidate selection means 354. By converting the keyword to the input Roman character string according to input operation which has high similarity resulting from high probability of wrong input with the intention of inputting the keyword, similarity determination can be properly performed, and further proper similar words can be selected. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
