TRANSFLECTIVE LIQUID CRYSTAL DISPLAY DEVICE AND ELECTRONIC EQUIPMENT MOUNTED WITH THE SAME

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a transflective liquid crystal display device with a wide viewing angle such that both a reflection type display area and a transmission type display area have normally black display characteristics without making input image signals opposite in polarity.

SOLUTION: The transflective liquid crystal display device comprising pixels each having a reflection type display area and a transmission type display area is provided with an optical layer, which rotates the angle of arrangement of linear polarized light by 45°, in the reflection type display area 5 between a transparent insulating substrate 22b and a liquid crystal layer 13.
