PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a warehousing shelf determining method for a stored article for performing efficient and speedy carrying-in/out of a warehouse and reducing play of a shelf to utilize the whole shelf effectively. SOLUTION: In this automatic warehouse 1 having 23 series-11 steps-left and right shelves and cycling a stacker crane 4 provided with carrying-in/out-of-warehouse equipment 4d for carrying in and out articles among a carrying-in station 5, a carrying-out station 6, and shelves to carry articles in/out of the warehouse, a row consecutive step of a warehousing shelf is selected alternately on the left and right sides-4 series skip-2 step skip in the order of single cycle for only carrying-into-the warehouse. If consecutive number exceeds 23 series, a series of a phase of a series having the small number of series selection and small consecutive number is selected from among a first series to a fourth series as a consecutive address of a wareshousing shelf. If the number of steps exceeds 11 steps, a step of a phase of a step having small number of step selection and small step number is selected from among a first step and a second step as a step address of a warehousing shelf to continue alternate on the left and right sides-4 series skip-2 step skip.
