PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the following problem: in an induction motor in which an end ring portion of a rotor core consisting of a laminated electromagnetic steel plate is constructed out of a plurality of protrusion portions, a temperature rise in windings of a rotor and a stator becomes high because the air in the induction motor cannot be circulated by only the protrusion portions of the end ring portion. SOLUTION: This induction motor includes a plurality of through-holes 5 in the rotor 2 consisting of the laminated electromagnetic steel plate, and a plurality of blade pieces 6 and 8 near the through-holes 5. As a result, the air in the induction motor can be circulated, thus constructing the induction motor with a simple structure, at a low-cost, and with improved cooling performance.
