PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a reciprocating compressor easily manufacturable by simplifying the production step for a stator, capable of preventing a piston from being worn due to the deformation of a cylinder by preventing the cylinder from being deformed by an inner stator and a method of manufacturing the compressor. SOLUTION: This reciprocating compressor comprises the inner stator disposed at the inside specified position of the outer stator and sintered by a powder metallurgy method using a powder metal, a reciprocating motor in which a movable element having a permanent magnet linearly moves between the outer stator and the inner stator, a cylinder disposed inside the inner stator and sintered by the powder metallurgy method using the powder metal, a piston inserted into the inner peripheral surface of the cylinder and sucking and compressing a gas while performing a reciprocating motion, and a plurality of resonance springs causing the resonance motion of the piston by energizing a connection part between the piston and the movable element.
