A sample container formed of a straw-like thin tube having a uniform outer diameter and closed at one or both open end parts by crimping so that the easiness of handling can be improved and cooling treatment for freeze-storage can be properly performed with excellent reproducibility, and a crimping device for the sample container. The end part of the thin tube (10) forming the major part of the sample container (10) is approximately divided into two parts in the circumferential direction, and one semi-circumferential portion (12) is crimped in the state of being stacked in a circular arc shape on the inside of the other semi-circumferential portion (13). Thus, the end part can be closed without producing an extruded portion of the thin tube (11) from the outer diameter (F1).
