An automatic dispensing store system, especially for selling crated drinks, has the items stored on two racks separated by a central gangway. An automatic handling system operates between the racks and a dispensing outlet (12). The handle has vertical and translational control as well as some rotational control. The two racks can be inside a chilled container with a coin operated outlet.
