A system and method for controlling the immediate climate of a living body including a control unit (12) and a climate control cloth (14), wherein the control unit is capable of controlling the amount and rate of climate control material that is supplied to or taken from within the climate control cloth. The climate control cloth comprises at least two layers of fabric affixed to each other along lines in a way that defines a pattern of one or more continuous passages between the layers and these passages have at least one inlet connectable to the control unit.
