<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a catalyst carrying method of a solid polymer fuel cell with reduced gas-crossover, capable of improving performance and durability of an MEA, and a membrane-electrode junction. <P>SOLUTION: In the catalyst carrying method of a solid polymer fuel cell, a process of making a catalyst layer to be turned into an anode catalyst layer 12 or a cathode catalyst layer 14 carry a catalyst precursor; and a catalyst carrying process applying an electrochemical deoxidation reaction to the catalyst layer 12 or 14 in a state of laminating the polymer electrolyte membrane 13 and the catalyst layer 12 or 14 in a thickness direction, and generating catalyst by deoxidizing the catalyst precursor contained in the catalyst layer 12 or 14; are carried out. After the catalyst carrying process, a catalyst metal fine particle layer 13k containing a plurality of catalytic fine particles is formed inside the polymer electrolyte membrane 13. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
