PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a small, thin and high-performance sound producing device capable of flexibly corresponding to a limited space by solving the problem that a mounting space is limited due to miniaturization and thin thickness of a device with respect to the sound producing device used for information communication equipment etc. SOLUTION: The sound producing device is attached on an electronic device and consists of a main body unit having a substrate incorporating main components, and an externally attaching unit housing this main body unit. The device has a structure consisting of a vibration unit for sound generation provided on one part of the externally attaching unit, and a driving unit provided on the main body unit so as to face the vibrating unit to drive this vibrating unit. With this configuration, since the degree of freedom in design of a speaker is extended and miniaturization can be easily realized, the device can be easily mounted on a small mounting space limited on a cellular phone etc., and a frame for forming the speaker is not necessary, thereby enabling simultaneously realizing cost reduction and miniaturization and lightweight.
