PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To perform telephone conversation after specifying talk volume corresponding to an incoming call receiving person at the time of receiving the incoming call. SOLUTION: An IP telephone system is provided with an IP telephone set 101 (102) connected to an IP network 106, a Web server 105 for registering talk volume information corresponding to a telephone number assigned to the IP telephone set 101 (102), and an ENUM server 103 for registering an NAPTR resource record in which link information to the talk volume specifying information registered in the Web server 105 is designated by a URI. In this system, the IP telephone set 102 (101) which has received an incoming call inquires the ENUM server 103 about the NAPTR resource record corresponding to the telephone number of a targeted recipient. The telephone set requests the talk volume specifying information corresponding to the telephone number of the targeted recipient to the Web server 105 in response to the returned NAPTR resource record, and adjusts the talk volume according to the returned talk volume specifying information.
