Compact contraction drive has integral length adjustment system to prevent elastic sleeve from folding

A compact contraction drive has an integral length adjustment system coaxial to one of the end pieces (7, 8) between which the elastic sleeve (4) is clamped. The length adjuster comprises a spring loaded connection with a radial operating range at least equal to the stroke of the contraction drive, and which operates without any leakages in the sleeve support. The spring loaded adjuster keeps the sleeve in a stretched state especially during the return stroke.
