The crash detection circuit (1) detects damage to the front of a vehicle caused by an impact. If the pipe (2) is breached, the magnetic fluid escapes. The ends of the pipe (3,4) are connected to magnetic sensors (5,6) in which an electric current is induced when the magnetic fluid moves. The sensors are connected to a control circuit (8). This in turn is connected to an engine cover lifter (9), an airbag system (10), and a safety belt system (11).
