ELASTOMERIC FLUOROCOPOLYMER, COMPOSITION CONTAINING THE SAME, AND CROSSLIKED RUBBERS

An elastomeric fluorocopolymer comprising repeating unit (l) derived from tetrafluoroethylene, hexafluoropropylene, vinylidene fluoride, or a fluoromonomer represented by the general formula: CF<SUB>2</SUB>=CF-O-R<SUP>f </SUP>(wherein R<SUP>f</SUP> is saturated perfluoro- alkyl of 1 to 8 carbon atoms or perfluoro(alkoxyalkyl)) and repeating units (m) derived from a monomer represented by the general formula: CR<SUP>1</SUP>R<SUP>2</SUP>=CR<SUP>3</SUP>COOCH=CH<SUB>2</SUB> (wherein R<SUP>1</SUP> and R<SUP>2</SUP> are each hydrogen, C<SUB>1-10</SUB> alkyl, or C<SUB>1-10</SUB> alkoxyalkyl containing an ethereal oxygen atom; and R<SUP>3</SUP> is hydrogen, fluoro, or methyl) at an (m)/(l) mole ratio of 0.0001 to 0.1; and an elastomeric fluorocopolymer composition comprising (A) the above elastomeric fluoro- copolymer, (B) an unsaturated polyfunctional compound, and (C) oxide and/or hydroxide of a divalent metal. The fuorocopolymer and the composition are excellent in crosslinking reactivity and can give crosslinked rubbers excellent in physical properties.
