[PROBLEMS] To provide an acoustic insulation that despite being lightweight and thin, excels in sound absorbency even within a low frequency region. [MEANS FOR SOLVING PROBLEMS] Use is made of an acoustic insulation of 5 to 30 mm thickness wherein there is at least one peak of normal incident sound absorption coefficient within the zone of 315 to 5000 Hz, the peak sound absorption coefficient being = 80%.
