The present invention provides a first agent of an oxidative hair dye capable of improving stability of a dye, and to a method for stabilizing a tone of an oxidative hair dye composition. The first agent of an oxidative hair dye containing a carbonate comprises: (A) at least one selected from resorcin, a derivative thereof, and a salt thereof, in which a combined amount of the (A) component is 0.2 mass% or less; (B) at least one coupler selected from m-aminophenol, 5-amino-o-cresol, and -naphthol; and (C) 0.01-0.45 mass% of at least one dye intermediate material selected from p-phenylenediamine, toluene-2,5-diamine, p-aminophenol, N,N-bis(2-hydroxylethyle)-p-phenylenediamine, a derivative thereof, and a salt thereof. A mass ratio of the (B) component with respect to the (A) component is 0.5-10. |
