<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and device for measuring a weld position of a magnetic head suspension, improving the measurement accuracy of the relative position of the weld part from a reference position of a reference part, keeping the measurement accuracy independently from an operator, and shortening the time required for measurement of the weld part, thereby reducing the cost of measurement work as much. <P>SOLUTION: The method and device 100 for measuring a weld position of a magnetic head suspension comprises converting image information containing images corresponding to the weld part P and reference parts Q1 and Q2 to corresponding multi-value image information; detecting a reference image position (X-axis and Y-axis) based on the images corresponding to the reference parts Q1 and Q2; converting the multi-value image information to corresponding binary image information; removing unnecessary images other than the image corresponding to the weld part P for the binary image information, and calculating the relative position (X, Y) of the image corresponding to the weld part P from the reference image position (X-axis and Y-axis) for the binary image information. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
