<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a communication system, capable of efficiently utilizing communication resources of a network and limited resources (electric power, storage capacity and the like) of a multimedia terminal device, when a multimedia service is provided through communication. <P>SOLUTION: A server for distributing an information group comprising a plurality of pieces of information to the terminal device selects a first method out of the first method for continuously distributing the information group and a second method for intermittently distributing the information group when a service time for the terminal device using the information group is not more than a predetermined time, and selects the second method when the service time exceeds the predetermined time. (a) When the first method is selected, the information group is continuously transmitted from the server to the terminal device; and (b) when the second method is selected, the first information piece out of the information group is transmitted from the server to the terminal device and thereafter, each remaining information piece is transmitted, by reconnecting the terminal device for each transmission. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
