<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a recording and reproducing device for making multilayering and reliability compatible and for writing and reproducing recording bits with high contrast. <P>SOLUTION: The recording and reproducing device performs recording by a multiphoton absorption process to a recording material in a multilayer recording medium, wherein the interference pattern of recording light is generated and consequently a fine structure is introduced to a recording mark in the multilayer recording medium. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
