<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a high reliable thin electrical connector easy to connect a FPC(flat cabling member). <P>SOLUTION: A plug member 1 comprises a plug body 40 provided with an opening 11 that opens in upward direction in inserted state, a flat-plate vertical side member 31 that is able to intervene with the opening from the opening direction, and a pressurizer 30 having a flat-plate lateral side member 32 connecting in generally vertical direction for the vertical side member. The plug contact 20 is positioned as the portion of the plug contact is projected from the inner wall 12 of the opening. The edge of the FPC is held between the vertical side member and the part 24 of the plug contact in a condition that the edge 71 of the FPC is inserted into the opening, and the vertical member intervenes.
