PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electric power steering device capable of reducing the width in the axial direction of a sensor circuit board, and increasing the collapse stroke in a secondary collision. SOLUTION: A sensor circuit board 10 of a torque sensor TS is dual-side mounted, and the width (Yb) in the axial direction of the sensor circuit board 10 can be reduced (for example, by about one half), and less than the width (X) in the axial direction of a torque detection mechanism unit, and the collapse stroke (Lb) in the secondary collision can be increased. Since a selective mounting unit capable of selectively mounting a wire 20 for absorbing shocks is provided, the shock absorbing performance is easily changed with the same vehicle.
