PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image pickup device capable of executing the sampling and holding of a CCD output signal at proper timing corresponding to a CCD drive frequency even if the CCD drive frequency is changed. SOLUTION: A timing signal phase information table in which phase conditions of a timing signal supplied to an image pickup drive part 103 and an analog signal processing part 104 are determined for each CCD drive frequency is stored in a memory 118. Even if the CCD drive frequency is switched, phase conditions corresponding to the CCD drive frequency are set by referring to the timing signal phase information table. The phase of the timing signal generated by a timing signal generating part 117 is properly changed at a timing signal phase changing part 118. Therefore, even when the CCD drive frequency is changed, the sampling and holding of the drive of an image pickup part 102 and the output signal from the image pickup part 102 can be executed at proper timing corresponding to the CCD drive frequency.
