PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To control the transmission/reception of image data according to the distance between an image data transmitter and an image data receiver. SOLUTION: An image data receiver 40 radiates electromagnetic waves within a specified range IA. When a portable telephone 1 enters within a specified range, the portable telephone 1 detects the electromagnetic waves to transmit a transfer start request to the image data receiver 40. The image data receiver 40 then transmits a transfer start reply to the portable telephone 1, and the portable telephone 1 transmits image data to the image data receiver 40, utilizing IR ray. When the portable telephone 1 moves to a specified range IE out of the specified range IA, the transmission of the image data is interrupted. When the portable telephone 1 enters within the specified range IA again, the portable telephone 1 transmits untransmitted image data to the image data receiver 40. COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI
