PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a music data erasure device for erasing the music data appropriate to the erasure from a storage device such as an HDD so that the remaining capacity can be efficiently secured. SOLUTION: In the music data erasure device having an erasure means for performing the erasure process for erasing the music data appropriate to be erased, among from the music data stored in the storage device, at least one piece of information among from the information on the compression rate for each piece of the music data, the information on the source of data for each piece of the music data, the information on the amount of data for each piece of the music data, and so forth is included in the information to be the index for the erasure.
