PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a brazing filler metal with which the operability of brazing is made excellent, and the mechanical strength of a brazed part at brazing can be increased. SOLUTION: The brazing filler metal is obtained by blending a base brazing filler metal essentially consisting of Cu and comprising Al, Fe, Ni and Mn as fundamental components with Ag and Si as essential components and with Sn as an optional element as well. In this way, the obtained brazing filler metal exhibits excellent wettability at brazing, thus can improve the operability of the brazing, and further can attain the increase of strength.
