PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a gauze excellent in shape retaining property which produces little lint or the like at the time of cutting out or usage, and exhibits little shape variation due to the friction at the time of absorbing a liquid or usage, or the friction or the like in the state of absorbing the liquid. SOLUTION: The gauze is a surgical one made of a fiber sheet constituted of solvent-spun fibers as a main body. The fiber sheet is unified as a whole by the solvent-spun cellulose fibers crossing each other. X-ray contrast threads exist in the fiber sheet. In the gauze, the X-ray contrast threads are fixed in the fiber sheet by the solvent-spun cellulose fibers constituting the fiber sheet twining around them. COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI
