Method of communication for use between at least two users over a telecommunications network, whereby each user has a terminal connected to the network and an assigned virtual representative (5, 6). The method has the following steps: representation of the two representatives on the first and second terminals and transfer of an information item from first to second user and vice versa by animation of at least one of the representatives and by interaction between the representatives. The invention also relates to a corresponding system for implementing the method.
