<p>A word control circuit holds the selected state of a word line selecting signal line selected at every memory blocks in a manner to correspond to a refresh address, after a refreshing action. In response to an access demand, moreover, the word control circuit unselects only the word line selecting signal line of a memory block that is selected by an external address corresponding to the access demand. In each memory block, the word line selecting signal line once selected is unselected till the access demand is received, so that the word line selecting signal line can be less frequently unselected and selected. As a result, the charging/discharging current of the word line selecting signal line can be decreased to reduce the consumed current of a semiconductor memory.</p> |
