<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress the deviation of an optical axis caused in an optical beam transmission adjustment means for adjusting the optical power of an optical beam generated by a light source to be small. <P>SOLUTION: An optical pickup device is provided with the light source, the optical beam transmission adjustment means, and a condensing means. The optical beam transmission adjustment means comprises a first transmission element having first transmissivity, a second transmission element having second transmissivity higher than the first transmissivity, a support means for rotatably supporting the respective transmission elements around a rotary axis in parallel with the first and second transmission elements, and a rotational driving means for rotationally driving the respective transmission elements around the rotary axis. The optical pickup device selectively outputs the optical beam of first optical power smaller than optical power at the time of emission and the optical beam of second optical power larger than the first optical power and smaller than the optical power at the time of the emission respectively by switching a first position where the optical beam is transmitted through the first transmission element and a second position where it is transmitted through the second transmission element by rotationally driving the rotational driving means. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
