<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To vary an amount of data to be transmitted between CPUs at once according to an amount of data transmitted to a printer engine. <P>SOLUTION: A dual CPU printer controller separately has the function of performing a PDL interpretation processing by receiving print data from a host computer and the function of performing color conversion of the data acquired by the PDL interpretation processing to transmit the converted data to a printer engine. The dual CPU printer controller comprises a means for measuring the transmission amount of the print data to be transmitted to the printer engine and a means for controlling the amount of the data transmitted between the CPUs at once.
