摘要 <p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an encryption apparatus configured redundant so that it will not transmit an ARP packet or the like, when the apparatus shifts from a backup state into a master state. <P>SOLUTION: A common virtual MAC address is set to the encryption apparatuses 11, 12; and the encryption apparatus in the master state acquires IP addresses and MAC addresses of a plain text side apparatus at a plain text network side and an encrypted text side apparatus, at an encrypted text network side and informs the encryption apparatus in the backup state about the acquired IP addresses and MAC addresses, converts the MAC address of the plain text side apparatus or the encrypted text side apparatus included in communication data as a sender MAC address into a virtual MAC address, in relaying the communication data between the plain text network side and the encrypted text network side, converts a virtual MAC address contained in the communication data as a destination MAC address into a MAC address of the plain text side apparatus or the encrypted text side apparatus cross-referenced with the IP address of the plain text side apparatus or the encrypted text side apparatus that is the destination IP address and carries out the relaying. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI</p>
