PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device for fixing a hard disk, which can securely and surely hold a high-capacity and high-density hard disk, by eliminating the generation of deformation in fixing and holding the hard disk. SOLUTION: In the device for fixing the hard disk HD for use in a spindle motor 1 of a hard disk drive or the like, a seat part 3 having a step 3a for mounting the hard disk is provided on the hub main body 2. The height h of the step 3a is made smaller than the thickness of the hard disk HD mounted on the seat part 3. An annular planar part succeeding to the step 3a is formed, and an elastic ring 6 for directly pressing the inner circumferential part of the hard disk HD or pressing it via an annular curved plate 7 is placed thereon.
