PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a packaging method of a lump material to be packaged, by which a lump material to be packaged is automatically and stably packaged under degassed conditions. SOLUTION: The packaging method using a packaging machine for filling a material to be packaged in a package bag (a) supported by a pair of grips intermittently moved in a plurality of processes and then sealing the opening of the bag comprises a filling step of filling the lump material to be packaged in the package bag (a) loosely retained at a lower peripheral portion from the front and the rear by a retaining means 25, an oscillating step of vertically oscillating a bottom of the package bag by an oscillating means to set the lump material to be packaged in a stable position, and a top sealing step of inserting a degassing nozzle 45 into the package bag to suck air in the package bag and to discharge the air to the outside, and at the same time closing the bag port c by a shutter means 60 when the nozzle is drawn out of the bag port c and sealing the opening of the bag in the degassed state.
