<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily detect failure such as the faulty attachment of a corona electrifier such as a scorotron electrifier and to inform a user of it. <P>SOLUTION: The image forming apparatus has the electrifiers 21b to 24b for electrifying photoreceptor drums 21a to 24a, and forms an image by directly or indirectly transferring toner images formed on the photoreceptor drums to recording paper. The electrifier is attachably/detachably arranged in an image forming apparatus housing, and the density of the toner image is detected by an ID sensor 16. When the electrifier is attached to the image forming apparatus housing again after it is detached therefrom, a decision control part 45 performs image forming control to form the toner image on the photoreceptor drum and decides according to the result of density detection by a density detection sensor whether or not the faulty attachment of the electrifier is caused. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
