<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a methemglobin formation inhibitor containing L-tyrosine, to provide an artificial oxygen carrier containing the methemglobin formation inhibitor, and to provide, concretely, an artificial oxygen carrier preparation capable of preventing increase in a methemoglobin content caused by oxidation of hemoglobin, etc., enclosed in a lipid endoplasmic reticulum having a bilayer membrane structure and suitable for storage for a long period. <P>SOLUTION: The methemglobin formation inhibitor containing the L-tyrosine and the endoplasmic reticulum containing the methemglobin formation inhibitor are provided, respectively.
