PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a light shielding curtain which is thin in thickness and improved in a light shielding performance, and to provide an electrostatic shutter apparatus equipped with the light shielding curtain. SOLUTION: The light shielding curtain 10 is formed by sticking together a 1st film-like polarizing member 11 through which only specified polarized light is passed and a 2nd film-like polarizing member 12 through which the specified polarized light is not passed. In the electrostatic shutter apparatus provided with a fixing member having a light transmissive area of a prescribed size and a plurality of driving electrodes, a moving member which has a light shielding performance and which is made movable between a position where the light transmissive area is shielded by the moving member and a position where the area is opened by receiving driving force by the charge of the driving electrode, and a protection member arranged so as to hold the moving member together with the fixing member, the moving member is constituted of polarizing material for passing through at least the specified polarized light.
