PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To fix a plurality of substrates while preventing the adhesion of dust or the like and to perform chemical treatment or the conversion of a probe to a solid phase with respect to the desired region of the substrate in a state that the substrate is placed on a placing surface. SOLUTION: The substrate fixing device 2 is constituted so as to fix the substrate A for detecting a living body related substance in a state that the substrate A is placed on the placing surface 10a at a predetermined position and and equipped with a placing stand 10 having the substrate A equipped with at least one probe region T which is porous and can convert a known specific bonding substance P to a solid phase and the through-hole 11 formed to the placing surface 10a in a non-probe region T' other than the probe region T and a holding means 15 for holding the under surface of the substrate A through the through-hole 11.
