PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a latch-side stile member for a door frame for use in both a right-hinged door and a left-hinged door, which can be applied to both the right-hinged door and the left-hinged door, and which makes the direction of the front side or backside of the stile member easily understandable. SOLUTION: The right-hinged door type latch-side stile member 11 shown in Fig. comprises a center frame 14, a side frame 15 and a doorstop member 30. In the center frame, a striker 17 is fitted into a front side 16, and first and second grooves 18 and 19 are each provided on an inside surface and an outside surface. In the side frame, a ridge 21 is provided on the side of the inside surface; a notch 22 is formed on the front side 20 of the base part of the ridge; and a locking groove 23 is provided on the side of the outside surface. The ridge is fitted into the second spline groove, and the doorstop member is fitted into the notch, so that the stile member 11 can be erected. When the right-hinged door type latch-side stile member is changed into a left-hinged door type latch-side stile member, the right and left sides of the center frame are reversed so that the striker 17 can be positioned on a front side 16A, and the ridge 21 of the side frame, which is turned upside down, is fitted into the first groove 18 which is moved to the outside surface.
