PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a highly versatile heat-resistant ceramic sheet obtained by binding a ceramic fiber with a binder, having a high mechanical strength at nearly 200-600°C without reducing the heat resistance of the heat-resistant ceramic sheet, and suitably usable as a heat insulator, a heat-resistant filter medium, a heat-resistant insulating material, a heat-resistant sealing material, a heat-resistant packing material, a heat-resistant buffer material, a heat-resistant cushioning material, a heat-resistant catalyst carrier or the like whose working temperature is an arbitrary temperature within a temperature region of 200-1,600°C. SOLUTION: The heat-resistant ceramic sheet having≤0.30 g/cm<SP>3</SP>density comprises at least 60-95 mass% ceramic fiber, 2-20 mass% glass staple fiber having 600-800°C softening point and≤1μm average fiber diameter, 0-10 mass% glass filament having≥600°C softening point and 5-20μm average fiber diameter and 3-20 mass% inorganic material caked by drying, and is formed by binding these material with an organic binder and by using a wet method.
