PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing a fluorine-containing polymer latex, excellent in the productivity of the fluorine-containing polymer latex and also in the storage stability of the obtained fluorine-containing polymer latex, and the fluorine-containing polymer latex. SOLUTION: The method for producing the fluorine-containing polymer latex is characterized by performing an emulsion polymerization of a fluorine-containing monomer in an aqueous medium containing 0.001-10.0 mass% fluorine-containing surfactant expressed by the formula (1): F(CF<SB>2</SB>)<SB>n</SB>O(CF<SB>2</SB>CF<SB>2</SB>O)<SB>m</SB>CF<SB>2</SB>COOA [wherein, A is H, an alkali metal or NH<SB>4</SB>; (n) is 3-10 integer; and (m) is 0 or 1-3 integer] to obtain the fluorine-containing polymer latex.
