The device has a mounting plate (11) in an image beam path for holding a plane-parallel transparent plate (9) in the image beam path. The mounting plate moves the transparent plate in a tilting movement and a swiveling around an axis of the mounting plate, and adjusts a definite parallel misalignment of light beams in the light path by change of the tilting situation of the transparent plate. An independent claim is also included for a confocal microscope, comprising a correction device for focusing a selected specimen range on a confocal screen.
