PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enables a variable delay device, which is applied to a loop part, etc., of a musical sound synthesizer to delay an input signal, to hold a fixed output value by suppressing the generation of noise even when an integral part and a decimal part of a delay means are discontinuously controlled. SOLUTION: The variable delay device which delays the digital input signal inputted in every specific sampling cycle by a delay time corresponding to a specified coefficient and outputs it is equipped with an integral-part delay means having a plurality of stages of storage areas for delaying the signal by the integral part of a sampling period and an all-pass filter which delays the signal by the decimal part of the sampling period of the delay time corresponding to the coefficient. When the quantity of delay by the integral part which is made by the integral part delay means varies, the value of the current integral part delay output from the integral-part delay means which is one sample precedent is set to a feedforward-side delay means and a feedback-side delay means of the all-pass filter. |
