The battery operated puff is handheld and intended for applying cosmetics to a desired body part. It comprises an actuating shaft 70 that is swingably coupled to an electric motor 20 installed in a handle-shaped casing 10, via a gear mechanism 40, 50 and a conversion mechanism 51, 71 that converts the rotational movement of a cam or an eccentric member 51 into a reciprocating movement. The actuating shaft comprises a support pin 72 which is able to swing on corresponding pin holding portions 16 on the case. The puff head 92 is provided with a connection pipe 93 so that it can be detachably connected to the actuating shaft. In a second embodiment the gear mechanism is removed and the conversion mechanism converts the rotary movement of the motor into a reciprocating movement via an eccentric member (104, Figs.4-5) that is received within a grove (102, Figs.4-5) on the bottom part of the shaft. |
