The fuel injector (1) connected to a high pressure fuel supply (2), for an internal combustion motor, has an injection valve (9) with jets (13,14) into the cylinder combustion zone. The jets are opened and closed by an inner needle (12) and a coaxial outer needle (11). The outer needle has a control zone (20) and a damping piston (22), with a further control zone (30) for the inner needle which is defined by the outer needle and the damping piston. Separate switch valves (8,60) control the outer and inner needles. |
