PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and a device for winding a magnetic tape which can suppress the occurrence of wrinkles caused by bubbles produced between a hub outer peripheral surface and the magnetic tape when the magnetic tape is wound. SOLUTION: A cartridge case C is installed to receive a reel R, the tip T1 of a magnetic tape T is attracted by a tape tip carrying means 22 to be held, and the tape tip carrying means 22 is inserted into the cartridge case C to stick the tip T1 to the outer peripheral surface of the hub H. Then, when the reel R is rotated to wind the magnetic tape T on the hub H, a part of the magnetic tape T is attracted only for a predetermined time after the start of the rotation of the reel R to wind the magnetic tape T by adding tension immediately before the winding on the hub H.
