摘要 <p>The invention relates to a method and respective devices for exploiting potential energy carried by river currents in the form of horizontal hydrostatic pressure. For said purpose, all of the principal and tributary channels of the river basin are converted into a series of water steps, whereby each step comprises a control section that is perpendicular to the current and the camber thereof is equal to the height of the blades of contained blade turbines which actuate an electrical generator that is connected to a common circuit. According to the invention, in the absence of a power demand, the turbines and generators rotate freely using the limited kinetic energy carried by the water. However, when power is required, said small amount of aquatic kinetic energy cannot provide the required thrust, such that all of the turbines stop rotating and the water inflow level rises to the pre-fixed step height. Moreover, since the water flow is shut off, the water level downstream is lowered, such as to form the water step used to discharge to the vacuum. A large electrical yield is formed simultaneously at each control section, which is used in the production of commercial electricity or electrolytic hydrogen that can (i) replace petroleum and carbon, thereby eliminating atmospheric pollution, and, given said unlimited energy sources, (ii) exceed that required for the treatment of polluted waters.</p>
